Well this left me with a lot to think about. I couldn't get the image of the crane out of my head. It left me with a lot of questions, especially the part where other members of staff seem to know his real name. Were you inspired by Bladerunner?

Everything I do is inspired by Bladerunner.

But in seriousness, his real name is written inside the paper crane. My original, unedited version was much more on-the-nose about that.

Ahhhh, got you! That's really hard to do when you're writing, isn't it? You don't know how vague to be or how obvious you need to be sometimes. I struggle with that. For microfiction and flash, I think that's perfect though.
